Diversity is considered a success factor of SusGel. Gender is an important aspect, but SusGel takes all aspects of diversity into account. Different backgrounds are also reflected in particular in the individual situation of SusGel members; in addition, different backgrounds must also be respected in a scientific context. We therefore strive for equal opportunities and mutual understanding at all levels, and all participants of SusGel are committed to the global goals of equality, equal opportunities and appreciation to everyone.

Thus, among others, doctoral researchers and postdoctoral researchers will be supported to increase compatibility of academic career and family. Generally, we strive to establish a friendly and appreciative environment, which is a prerequisite for in-depth, often also controversial scientific discussions with the aim of deeper understanding.
